Prize Winners of the Princess Christina Competition from the Netherlands

April 28, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

| Free

Come see the three recent winners of the Netherland’s prestigious Princess Christina Competition for one day only during their North American tour.

This year’s winners are: Maxim Heijmerink (piano), Neils Jacobs (trombone), and Yente Lottman (violin) and they will be performing music by Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Debussy and others.

This promises to be a lovely afternoon in one of Calgary’s most beautiful natural settings. Located at Rideau Park, the Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building is situated on one of the higher points of Calgary overlooking the Elbow River and showcases a spectacular view of the Rocky Mountains. Admission is by donation and the concert will be followed by a reception.

Due to limited seating, seats may be reserved in advance by calling the Mountain View Connection at 403-828-0825, by e-mailing to mountainviewfestival@gmail.com, or online through www.brownpapertickets.com.

For over 40 years, the Princess Christina Competition in the Netherlands has provided important opportunities for young Dutch music students in their late teens and early twenties, both performers and composers. All three artists are on tour in the USA currently and this will be their first appearance in Canada.

This concert is co-sponsored by the Mountain View Connection Concert Series and Irene Bakker, Honorary Consul of the Netherlands in Calgary.
