NEW! Inspire Online Career Incubator Camp, July 20-24, 2020 for ages 12-19
Inspire Our Nation is pleased to bring you the first ever Inspire Online Career Incubator Camp, July 20-24, 2020. This online camp for ages 12-19 is designed to ignite and develop the creative potential of youth, equipping them with marketable skills for the future.
“We are seeing our unique opportunities, during the COVID pandemic, to inspire youth through the Inspire Online Career Incubator Camp and it’s unique vision. At Inspire Our Nation, we exist to inspire youth to overcome struggle and be influencers in the world for positive change. At first, we were impassioned by the idea of seeing youth reach their full potential. What soon became the most inspiring effect of the movement was the transformational change we saw youth experience. For example comments like “Because of Inspire I have grown in self-confidence”, “I am more confident as a person”. These comments reflect the changes that are motivating youth to stretch beyond their comfort zones and pursue lives of impact and purpose – for the good of our nation.
– Kaitlyn Cey, Director of Inspire Our Nation
“I’m excited about the Inspire Online Career Incubator camp because over the past year I’ve grown so much in my giftings through Inspire programming and I can’t even imagine all the talents and abilities this camp will unlock in youth across Canada when they are paired with industry leaders!”
– Fola Adelugba, Inspire Camp Coordinator
Each camper will receive a box filled with goodies for their week at camp and delivered to his or her home. We know it can be stressful and scary exploring which career path to choose, and we’re here to help! Campers will have a great time together!
In main sessions, every camper will receive life-planning tips, activities and training. Main session topics include: gifts assessments, servant leadership, resumé development, entrepreneurship, finance skills and physical activity opportunities.
The Inspire Team is so thankful for all involved! Inspire has engaged many community-minded organizations professionals to deliver in the program. In addition to the main sessions, each camper will be mentored by industry professionals with a choice of in-depth workshops in the following skills: • Photography/Videography • Health/Science • Visual Arts/Creative Writing • Storytelling/TED-style Talk Presentation Skills
Since March 2020, Inspire has been successfully delivering its online youth empowerment and mentorship programs (Inspire Girl and Inspired to Influence) across Western Canada. Key to success is having a high ratio of youth-leaders to participants and active learning sessions. The COVID-19 situation has provided an opportunity to expand geographically online.
Inspire Our Nation is in alignment with the Canadian Government’s call to action to implement anti-racist education and to support Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. This is why anti-racism and inclusivity is an important part of the camp, including a youth panel on the topic.
The Inspire Online Career Incubator Camp welcomes youth of all abilities! Ensuring the Inspire Camp streams are accessible and available to youth of all abilities, we are partnering with Young Life Capernaum to have their trained volunteers assist youth with exceptionalities attend the Inspire Camp program.
The Inspire ‘camp-in-a-box’ cost is $80, however, we recognize that these can be tough times for many. Making sure no one misses out due to financial hardship, Inspire offers a Campership Application for those who are unable to pay. The Inspire Camp is supported by generous sponsors in the community. It’s always appreciated when those who are able to contribute a little more consider donating to the Inspire Campership Fund.
