SUMMARY:History of Freedom Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Murray Lytle as he looks at history through the lens of freedom. \nIf we want to understand the state of the world today then we need to understand the thoughts and actions of those who came before us To recognize the ephemeral nature of the freedoms we have today\, it is necessary to study the expensive and bloody conflicts that won them If we continue to outsource the study of history then losing our high cost freedoms will be the price of our historical ignorance. Or so argues Dr Lytle\, who has studied creativity and cultural development in the context of freedom His doctoral dissertation focused on the role of worldview in resource development conflict and he published a book on the American Civil War to articulate his views about freedom.\nDr. Lytle has had a long career in the petroleum and mining industries in Canada and Latin America and has made Calgary\nhis home\, on and off\, since 1980 \n
